Prof. Dr. Mohammod Mahabubur Rahaman (Shahin) graduated (MBBS) in 1999 from Dhaka Medical College (DMC). In 2004, he completed his diploma in dermatology from Dhaka Medical College under Dhaka University. Then he joined as Assistant Professor at Central Medical College, Comilla, Bangladesh in 2006 & continued for 3.5 years.

In 2009, he passed FCPS-P-1 in dermatology. He started as a trainee in the dermatology department and completed 1.5 years of training as a prerequisite for fellowship. In 2011, he started his fellowship course at BSMMU for 1 year. Then he appeared final examination of FCPS-Dermatology under BCPS. In July 2012 session, he passed in his first appearance.

After completing the fellowship, he participated in dermatosurgery conference & workshop (ACSICON - March 2013) in Bengaluru, India. In December 2013, he got training on hair restoration surgery under Dr Sanjib Vasa from VASA HAIR Academy.

He joined as Associate Professor at Eastern medical college, Comilla in April 2014. In 2016, he has completed 2 weeks fellowship in dermatosurgery under Dr. S. Murugusundaram from Chennai Skin Foundation, Chennai, India. In 2019, he arranged a hands-on workshop on vitiligo surgery (NCMT) for the first time in Bangladesh at Aurora Skin & Aesthetics.

In 2022, he got advanced training on vitiligo surgery from Indore, India. He holds 20 years of a wide range of experience in the management of Clinical & surgical dermatology, Cosmetic & Hair Transplant Surgery & Trichology, and Skin Health related areas.

In Bangladesh, Dr. Mahbub is the first Vitiligo Surgeon, to perform NCMT successful surgery for Vitiligo treatment and that makes him a pioneer profoundly. With his long experiences in clinical & surgical dermatology, he becomes a national icon in Vitiligo & Hair treatment. His proficiency makes him a renowned and iconic specialist in Bangladesh.

In this milestone, he has completed many international training in Basic Dermatosurgery (India), Hair Transplant surgery (India, ISHRS - USA), Dermatosurgery & Trichology (India), Vitiligo surgery (Melanocyte Transplant-MT) (India), and so on from many renowned institutes. He has also attended many national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops in many countries.

He has presented many scientific papers at different national & International conferences and also published more than 20 articles in different journals.

He served The Society of Dermatologic Surgeons of Bangladesh (SDSB) as Secretary General 2020-22 session. At present, he is working as a senior consultant of Aurora skin & Aesthetics since 2014 & the Vice President of The Society of Dermatologic Surgeons of Bangladesh (SDSB). He is also the founder member & treasurer of SDSB.
