Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Wahab (Lt. Colonel Retd.) was born on 26th August 1955 in Shyampur village, Meherpur district. His academic career is highly distinguished. He completed his M.B.B.S. from Rajshahi Medical College in 1982. He then joined the Army Medical Corps as a Captain. In 1991, he passed the D.D.V. examination with 1st place and started his career as a specialist in Dermatology and Venereology. He obtained M.C.P.S. from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS) in 1992 and F.C.P.S. in 2001. In 2005, he voluntarily left the Army Medical Corps. In 2006, he received specialized training on ‘Sexual transmitted infection’ from Thailand.

In the same year, he joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor in 2012. Currently, he is serving in the same institution.

He has more than 30 research publications (on skin, sexual, allergy, and infectious diseases) at both national and international levels. His work on sexual and skin diseases has been published in the medical journal Andrew’s Diseases of the Skin. His work on ‘Tinea versicolor’ treatment was cited as a reference with his name. He has also presented his research in various international scientific conferences.

In recognition of his contribution to medical science, he obtained F.R.C.P. from the ‘Royal College’ and F.A.C.P. degree from the ‘American College of Physician’. He has presented and visited countries including Singapore, Canada, England, Yugoslavia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, India, Pakistan, Dubai, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, and many more. Currently, he is engaged in teaching.
